SoVerge leverages our expertise of people and systems to develop practical solutions for our clients. Our consulting approach considers the systematic and sociological factors. We believe that how the problem is identified and framed will impact the outcome and proposed solution. Therefore, we seek to reframe the issues and opportunities to address how each part interacts with the whole.
SoVerge is a combination of the words sociology (the study of people) and converge (the point where something comes together). Therefore, our consulting focuses on where problems and solutions meet social interactions, relationships, behaviors, and organizational systems. Most problems are sociological in nature because people are essential for businesses and organizations. The consultants at SoVerge are positioned and trained to provide sociological, systematic, and organizational insight from starting a business to running it effectively.
Wes specializes in understanding people and systems. In addition to his consulting practice, Wes is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Midwestern State University and a Certified Clinical Sociologist. He has over 15 years of management experience in businesses, nonprofits, and governmental agencies. Wes has been part of start-ups and existing organizations. He has worked at four universities and spoken at several venues and conferences.
Wes has a Ph.D. in Sociology. Previously, he earned a professional doctorate, a Doctor of Ministry, which focused on application-oriented research to address organizational problems. Wes has earned two master's degrees—a Master of Science in Sociology and a Master of Divinity.
Wes' unique blend of education and experiences helps him understand how social dynamics impact individuals, groups, and organizations. He knows how to identify people's values and understands how they conceptualize problems so he can offer practical solutions. Wes can evaluate program effectiveness and identify organization growth and success indicators. He can conduct quantitative, qualitative, and community-based research and knows how to employ statistical methods.
